Years later, I decided to install the radio stack toward the center of the panel and I had to move the trim to the opposite side of the canard to avoid interference. I removed the base with th help of a Dremel tool, bonded it to the opposite side of the canard and glassed over it with 2 BID. It is shown here next to the autopilot pitch servo during its installation process.
