TOTAL BUILDING
TIME: 4,700+ hours / 78 months to first flight.
The building time above does not count planning,
research, ordering, task preparation, shop cleaning time, and other
associated building activities; which add numerous hours both inside and
outside the shop. After completing
the airplane, I estimate that another 20% additional time is spent on these
activities. Also, the log does not
consider any building time
contributed by friends and family members which add up to the total
building time.
For the most part, the building sequence follows the
sections in the manual. Therefore,
tasks grouped in a particular section here probably did not follow my
actual building sequence, for which I kept a log.
